Mater Dei wanted to everyone to believe every quarterback they produced was the next Elway. I think Barkley was when recruiting services stopped taking them seriously.
his completion rate as a senior was under 55%
i remember when the recruitniks were blowing him and i kept asking how this amazing HS QB had such a shitty completion rate

Hopefully they sell him this summer and he finally gets a chance to develop.
he's 20
not being in bayern's first team plans in the immediate future isn't a big deal. sure he's not on a superstar track but i doubt they seriously consider selling him. he'll get loaned out for at least another year (maybe 2) and then they will evaluate him
no point to sell him b/c his value isn't high. the only place that may buy him is an MLS club
the worst thing that can happen to him is going to the MLS

His junior year was really great, that's where all the hype started. But you're right, he was very mediocre his Sr year. He kept a high ranking because of his performance in camps, specifically the UA game.

American development, or lack thereof, is what did him in.
naw
his physical development (and attitude) did him in
he was very small and very slow. he couldn't play wing b/c he was way too slow to be a threat and he didn't have the physicality to play more inside as a CAM. he can still dribble well and pass well and has moments of brilliance, but he cannot stack up to any real competition b/c of his physical limitations
