quote:

“Effective immediately, the Conference is withholding 25 percent of Baylor’s share of any future revenue distribution until the proper execution of controls is independently verified. By taking these actions the Board desires to ensure that the changes that were promised are actually made and that systems are in place to avoid future problems. The proportional withholding of revenue distribution payments will be in effect until the Board has determined that Baylor is in compliance with Conference bylaws and regulations as well as all components of Title IX.”

FWIW, Baylor has already hired an outside firm to confirm that the 105 recommendations by Pepper Hamilton have been implemented. This feels like grandstanding by the Big 12, but it should give Baylor the opportunity to demonstrate progress in these areas.

NCAA penalties shouldn't take forever (not a UNC case) as Baylor has kept the NCAA in the loop on violations. I think we can expect a bowl ban, reduction in scholarship, forfeiture of all games the past "x" seasons, and a fine. For those calling for the death penalty, I don't think it is expected. The death penalty was created as a punishment for teams that were already on probation by the NCAA, which Baylor was not.

Regardless of the penalties by the NCAA/Big 12, the hope is that we will be one of the national leaders in Title IX departments in terms of resources available and handling of sexual assaults, or at least that's my hope.

If anyone deserves the death penalty, it really is these guys. Yeah i get it, no ncaa rules broken. Shove it.

Rape, assault, molestation, etc are far greater offenses than paying someone to play collegiate football

Give credit where credit is due... I am friends with many Baylor fans. Many of my family are Baylor grads...while some of them were defending Art Briles at first, pretty much all of them now are distancing themselves

Compare that to Ped State fans who continue to support child rape and the child rape enabler to this day and treat him like a God

Baylor shouldnt be updating anyone on anything. Its pretty clear yalls entire university is fricked up beyond fixing and Baylor should not be involved in any investigation.

They'll get that 25% whether the NCAA likes it or not. They seem to operate that way over there

Right all to have the NCAA feel bad for them and reverse the sanctions like they did to Penn St. Penn State should have lost their football program for the number years they allowed a man to rape children.

The whole vacated wins thing is hardly punishment. So what, they already got the money, exposure, memories, etc. You need to pile on with punitive monetary damages and things like scholarship reductions, preventing their games from being televised, and other creative measures.

Conference USA.

AAC already established it doesn't want trashy programs like Louisville or Rutgers stinking up the joint.

Translation.

Texas will receive Baylor's portion of big12 revenue until Texas is back on their feet.

That's like being so mad at Kentucky, you punish Cleveland State.

At this point even the Southland Conference doesn't want them.

They're lucky they haven't been kicked out for a school with far better long term growth potential like Houston TBH. You only need one private school to keep your meetings free from FOIA requests and TCU would keep that status.
