It's high school kids. They will be ok. It's a terrible policy especially for public courses.

how is it terrible? because you didn't realize that the place actually closes...it's like the people who go to restaurants and sit there and drink while everyone is cleaning around them....it usually means GTFO.

I had to do this for 4 years. Would leave the course around 8:30 in the summer. Don't work in the golf business if you want to be home by 7.

Also it's not high school kids, most of the time it's college kids.

I have one HS kid, most of the employees are retirees

Should close when it's too dark to play.

I wish the golf course I work at did this. Pain in the arse waiting for one cart. Even worse having 30 backed up at 8:30 at night.

Dude, it's a terrible policy. The only reason I have seen is that the cart staff needs to get home and do their homework.

Revenue from cart fees??? Would you not make more money closing at 8:30?

It's actually a great policy. For the douchebags who stay after I yell lights out I will turn off the lights and if I have to wait more than 5 minutes in the parking lot for them I will start to lock the gate to make them hurry up. If I could do the same for golf carts I would, but I can't because they need to be locked up. I will however drive out there if its only 1-2 carts and tell them they need to gtfo.

6:45 is too early. I can understand 7:30 but not 6:45.

Great reasoning right there. I stand corrected.

It's a great policy and it's also done for safety reasons. Could you imagine going down the hill on #17 at The Bluffs in the dark.

I didn't give any reasoning, just gave you my process for dealing with people like you.

Curious how you know 6:45 is the optimal closing time? Figure all courses would do it if there were studies proving this.

LINK
this is the website used to determine "official" sunset! right next to the temperature there is the sunset times. It says 7:23...that will move the carts need to be in time, to 7:00.

For all you idiots complaining, is it really that big of deal that you play 2 more holes, lose 6 more balls, and tear up the course more you hacks. GTFO.
