When was the NFL better than the current era?

80s, 90s, 00s, maybe even the 70s

whereas Baseball has virtually the same rules of play for over 100 years.

Which is why its A. boring as frick and B. has terrible "unspoken" rules.

The NFL is definitely very watered-down nowadays, and not just because of the rule changes. It's mainly because of the ads. It makes it unenjoyable to watch. The great thing about baseball is that there are no opportunities for the networks to cram in commercial breaks until the half-inning ends or there is a pitching change. With football (NFL and college), a player farts on the sidelines and they have to take a god damn commercial break. Drive me insane.

People may not like the new rules in the NFL, but have you seen some of the active players??? NFL Players nowadays are borderline super humans, without some of these rules there would be players getting knocked out cold left and right.

So? Who cares? I literally do not care if they have to bury players in mass graves after every game outside the stadium. I want to see Ronnie Lott blowing WRs up over he middle. I want to see LT maiming QBs. I don't want to see the NFL throwing a flag because someone untied Tom Brady's shoe.

It's just such a travesty that the NFL cares about the safety/health of its employees.

However, I agree they took it way over the top when it comes to the QBs getting hit, they are no different than any other player on the field. It's sickening at times seeing QBs bitch to the refs about getting a finger laid on them.

I would rather watch a Pelicans preseason game than the World Series game 6. That's just me though.
