Atlanta Hawks To Be Sold?

According to SI.com the Atlanta Hawks are on the verge of being sold. This breaking news is not expected to influence the Hawks' decision-making during the draft. The Hawks ownership group last month sold the Atlanta Thrashers to a group that will relocate the franchise to Winnipeg next season. The Hawks owners have spent the last two to three years seeking minority investors in the NBA team.

how can you not find minority owners in a city like ATL? I know the fans suck but still there has to be some biters with so many businesses.

That's a really nice arena with a good location. I'm sure that after the CBA is worked out and NBA franchises become a more attractive investment they'll be in okay shape.

for the record, I want to get rid of the latter, and hold on to the former (unless it's a great deal). I'd like to see what a good owner and a better front ofc could come in and do before trading Josh.

I wouldn't even watch the Hawks anymore. If they trade Josh I probably will stop caring about them anyways. A core of JJ and Horford won't get you anywhere.

ok, I'd read something similar to that earlier. doesn't make much sense for Portland though. I can't believe they want Jameer that bad to give up Camby.

they just want to unload Millers contract. a lot of people up here seem to think Rudy Fernandez is about to be traded as well.

no, they're trying to use Miller's contract as a trade chip, which is understandable. his contract isn't fully guaranteed next yr (or it's a team option). they want to get something back rather than letting him walk or paying whatever the guaranteed portion is.
it's the Camby part I don't get. he keeps Aldridge from playing the 5 too much and he's their only reasonably healthy 5 (and still a serviceable with an expiring deal). they could do Jameer for Miller straight up and keep Camby.
