honestly, i don't think so. they'd be stupid to move him or King Felix. i could definitely see Fister, League and Vargas moving though.

I like Fister. The Mariners have a nice rotation set up between King, Pineda, and Fister. I would keep Vargas as well. League is expendable, IMO, especially if Aardsma gets healthy again.

Then why do the Red Sox seem to be the prohibitive favorites?

Red sox have pitching. Pretty damn solid pitching, especially for a playoff series.

But yes, the SP options are limited out there this year.

They have solid pitching. I do not think that Buchholz will make a big impact the rest of the year. The Phils and the Giants and the Braves all have better pitching.

I think that the Phillies gap in pitching overcomes Boston's lineup.

Again, noone is arguing that

this isn't a Phillies vs Red Sox thread

If the Giants get him, they're going to win the National League again.

They might even without him.

Mets going to get a top pitching prospect for Beltran won't have to settle for 2nd tierprospect according to source familiar w talks #trades

These are the Rangers pitchers he then lists:

Rangers pitching prospects in play for Beltran and Bell include: Erlin, Wieland, Ramirez, Scheppers, Ross, Loux and Mendez #TRADES

Dunno much about these guys, but out of them, Scheppers is the only one who made BA's top 100 prospects for 2011 that was released in February. And he's ranked 84th...

Yeah I don't know anything about the Rangers system but I think it's safe to say, if we offer one of our 4, the deal will be done

I'm not completely against trading Minor for Beltran, but I want us to at the very least get a bullpen arm as well

That's my ideal scenario.

Perez is probably they're best pitching prospect. they're kind of thin there TBH.

Braves definitely need pitching help.

quietly, the SF Giants have overtaken the Phillies and Braves for lowest ERA in baseball with a 3.08. Braves are down to 3.35. 5th in MLB and 4th in the NL. Phillies at 3.13.

Yeah, I know of him. And Jurickson Profar, their bad arse SS prospect, but I think they are unwilling ot move either.

I just found it interesting that Bowden says the Mets will get a top arm, alludes to the Rangers being the best bet, but the arms he lists them offering aren't really "top arms."

he's gotta be talking about Wheeler or one of the Braves, IMO. i just dont' understand why they would trade inside their division.

Braves/Giants/Phillies/Red Sox/Yankees

One of those 5 teams will win the WS.

Loser of the AL East won't win the World Series. So whenever we figure out who that is, we can rule them out, IMO.

I wouldn't say that yet... just depends on what the two teams do during the trade deadline.

If the Yankees don't add a rotation arm, I will cross them off.
