The Oakland Athletics have the second-worst attendance rate of any team in Major League Baseball. They average 16,159 fans per game, meaning more than half the seats at Oakland Coliseum are often empty.
So what’s a team to do to get more fans to come to games, short of giving tickets away? The A’s have come up with a pretty interesting idea.
Starting in June, fans will be able to purchase a monthly ballpark pass — good for admission to any home game that month, as long as there’s no sellout — for $19.99.

Full details: LINK

I'd do it if I lived in the area.

I'd be all over something like that if the Padres did it.

Just had to throw that jab in. Nice.

The Cardinals one is different from the rest because it's only standing room tickets.

The Cardinals are still selling plenty of tickets. Don't you worry.

The Rangers have been top 10 in attendance all but one year in the last seven (including this year) and that year they were 12th. Maybe they could offer a $20-30 pass for all matinee games in a month as those are normally only 60-70% capacity .

Are the Athletics making any progress getting a new stadium?

Last I read, they had narrowed it down to two sites for a new stadium. Which doesn't mean a whole lot. Not sure on the details of how it will be paid for.

Article I read intimated that it may be easier for the A's to get a stadium now that the Raiders/Warriors are leaving

I would hate to see them leave Oakland. The few fans they do get are very loud though.
