You seem to have an unhealthy hate for the Astros.

Did Jeff Bagwell walk across the street and bang your mom?

If he did that, there would be no hate. Maybe Bagwell refused it.

Astros are garbage franchise. Of course, I cheer for winners like the Yankees and Red Sox.

Well this just got more interesting, from Buster Olney...

Red Sox don't expect to sign Jose Abreu; they figure he'll be signing with another team. White Sox, Astros now seen as frontrunners.

Im convinced that Japhet Amador is going to be a solid piece in the lineup by the All-Star break '15

I don't think he'd be a huge difference maker, but he'd help

I hear we're out of the running.

Reportedly offered between 50-60 million and no deal.

They were shedding money as much as the Astros were at one point.

Are they in rebuilding mode or do they want to go the route of the Astros and rebuild from the bottom? Isn't they're farm system shite?

I'm sure OBUDan can answer that if he sees this.

They view him as another Puig. He's a defensive liability but with a smoking hot bat.

It didn't make sense for us on alot of fronts.

1. It would road block Singleton
2. We could spend that Kind of money and get a whole new bullpen.
3. This move really didnt fit into Luhnow's plan.

White sox signed him... Houston fans: your owner has no intention of spending any money. Period. Enjoy your 4th 100 loss season.

I think Puig could become a pretty good defender.

Abreu is just a masher. All power all the time. Sox love their sluggers. They paid A LOT.

I am glad they didn't spend $70M on Abreau. I think getting him at $55 would have been a good deal but this guy does carry some risk. he has enormous power but not sure how good his plate discipline will be and defensively he is a big Q mark, even at 1b.

The White Sox may have gotten another masher here, but they also may have gotten a Chris Carter who is likely older than they think

I was all for adding a FA or two to the outfield, but I'm glad we didn't spend all that money.

We've got guys who are going to help the club eventually. This team needs relief pitching more than anything else, so I'm glad we saved that money so we could use it on 3 or 4 decent relievers.

you could write for the chronicle with that point of view

would be cheering from rooftops if stros made that big of a splash, but listing all reasons why not a good idea when they didnt
