They were the gap team to win it all while Jordan was in the middle of his 2 year retirement. Bulls win 3 straight, Jordan retires, and then they win 3 more in a row as soon as he is back.

What does this say about those championships?

Another way to ask this: Would the Bulls have won 8 in a row if Jordan never retires?

If the Heat were to win 3 in a row, Lebron randomly retires, the Thunder were to win 1-2, and Lebron returns to immediately win 3 more, I would definitely feel those hypothetical Thunder championships would be tarnished. No doubt.

What say you?

Not exactly. Jordan's team was in the playoffs during the second title for Houston. Guess Stern cut his 2 year suspension short.

Better question:

Does Jordans legacy change at all if he played and lost to those two Rocket teams?

They would have been great series, no doubt. But are you really going to doubt Jordan?

He showed up in late March. Would have been different if he had played the entire year. Even the great one himself can't get into basketball-playing shape that fast.

Those saying no, consider my hypothetical:

The Heat win 3 in a row, Lebron randomly retires, the Thunder were to win 1-2, and Lebron returns to immediately win 3 more. What would history have to say about those championship(s)?

Obviously I'm a huge Thunder homer, but I would definitely feel like those hypothetical championship(s) would have a certain cloud around them.

That 1995 Rockets team would've been a great matchup with Chicago.

Which team was better 1994 or 1995?

They would be about as tarnished as the Heats championships based on the fact that 3 super stars got together and said lets make a super team.

I have no idea. I was 8 then.

Fun side fact: For those that somehow think I hate Houston; I was actually born in Houston.
