Anyone think it's funny ESPN is doing a 30 for 30 on the Duke scandal?

They were the ones airing it 24/7 and calling them guilty from the start. Will they explore that in the film?

There's a really good book on the Duke lacrosse case called until proven innocent I believe (too lazy to look on the bookshelf) really good that explains everything. Highly recommend it

My money says half of it is about the underprivileged, unspoken for blacks living in Durham.

I expect that they are still going to make the lacrosse players look bad and talk about how the poor African Americans In a rich white college town had the right to be suspicious and angry. That is the most likely angle here

I really wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

There is just no way ESPN is about to run a 30 for 30 bashing a black hooker who lied about a bunch of rich white kids. All while calling out the liberal media. No way. They will spin the shite out of it

Not according to this review from The Daily Beast:

quote:

But Fantastic Lies’ resounding message is not that America should reflect even more deeply now on the sharp race and class divides that yielded such incendiary circumstances in Durham, N.C., a decade ago. Its message is that the world owes an apology to these resilient young athletes and their families—the real victims.

I hope you are right rolltide. Also, could be a good show to get out AD fired. How we hired that POS after what he did to his student athletes is embarrassing for LSU

Innocent Until proven guilty was a good book. It was way too long though. I quit reading about 3/4 into it and it got repetitive after about 200-250 pages.

I'm sure ESPN will allow Jemelle Hill to get her just desserts...
