My router is like 5 ft away from my TV and I'm getting like 45 mbps download speeds currently but I just cannot stream a game. I've run Slingplayer for hours at a time with maybe one 2 second hiccup but I've never made it through an inning on MLB TV.

Same problem here. The fire stick is closer the router than our AppleTV, which works perfectly fine.

Yeah, I'm going to have to check it on the Apple TV and Chromecast. Just annoying because the Fire Stick is my favorite one to have in the living room due to the music and prime.

I found the WiFi reception on the fire TV sticKs to be very poor and inconsistent. Ended up selling both i had and going with regular fire TV so I could connect via Ethernet

My son & I use Apple TV for MLB.tv, and it works great. Every so often you'll get a brief stoppage, but that's about it.
