The devil is in the details, there was no signing bonus and his $10M "guaranteed" is really only guaranteed roster bonuses if he makes the team. If they release him after the 2015 season, they owe him nothing and no dead money. This is a one year tryout to see if he can earn the 2nd year money.
2015 $3.5 million base & $4 million roster bonus
2016 $5 million base & 2.5 million roster bonus
2017 $6 million base
