haha its about people not underdtanding the meaning of "home court advantage" what that means is mia has advantage of not having to win another game on the road to win the title. its that simple, win at home.. win the ring. Simple as that. I know format, i watch nba .

The Heat have home court advantage for the rest of the series. Plain and simple. 3 of the next 5 are played in Miami, and the series is tied.

But as it sits now mia HAS home court and just has to win their games at home... which is home court advantage 101

Agreed... But the key statement is "as it sits now". It will change quickly!

But even if the format was the same, isn't the road team taking 1 out of the first 2 actually taking home court advantage away from the team who originally had it?

It's basically a brand new series now. Heat has home court advantage right now. Heat took that advantage away from the spurs tonight. All the heat needed was to steal just one game in Texas.

I'm trying to explain to you that your OP was slightly ambiguous in regards to your understanding of the Finals format.

I made a harmless jab about your OP, which launched your tirade of what home-court actually is and rah-rah rabble rabble.

Carry on.

He made it sound like the Heat could wrap up the series without ever leaving Miami again. That's all I'm saying.

As for a philosophical debate on what home-court advantage actually is, I don't think it's something that you can gain or lose. The Spurs had it to start the series and still do, because there was never a possibility for the Heat to have more games played in Miami than in San Antonio.

Even if Miami wins in 5, San Antonio gets 3 home games to Miami's 2. That's not Miami having home court, that's just the Spurs losing despite their home-court advantage.

But that's just my view of it and I can see either side to be honest.

It wasn't. But after everyone piled on you, I had to go back re access everything I've ever learned in studying home court advantages thruout my lifetime.

not arguing.. because im tired. But just one simple fact

as it sits, miami not having to win another game on the road is home court advantage. All miami has to do is win home games.
