Average 50 is flat out ridiculous....comical even. His off night of 40 would destroy his average.

In reality, MJ would be no better than Eric Gordon in today's game. MJ was surrounded by short, unathletic white guys when he played during the 1990s. At 6'6, I'm pretty sure MJ was the tallest guy on the floor 58% of the time.

just for reference, the difference of 13 points per game is the difference between james harden and ryan Anderson and 57 players. sooooo yea, good luck Michael
reposting so people can understand the type of scoring increase Michael would need to reach 50 ppg

Another way to look at it is combining LBJ and Anthony Davis, who are the 3rd and 4th leading scorers in the NBA and two very efficient players. Their combined average is 50.4 PPG.

Yep. The 80's is widely known as the worst defensive era... and Jordan never averaged 50.

Also, this Mourning quote goes to show you that even former athletes say stupid shite about the sport they've played
this type of shite is how the legend of MJ has been drastically romanticized. MJ WOULD AVERAGE 50 TODAY!! HE COULD STILL AVERAGE 20 PPG AT 50 Y/O!!!! its just wild nostalgia over common sense.

58% is pretty specific. How did you reach that in lieu of the more vague "way over 50%" or "close to 60%"?

think about it... the game is going away from hero ball like MJ, Russell Westbrook notwithstanding...

What would Jordan do in the modern era offenses that revolve around "pace and space"? he wasn't that good from 3. his midrange shots would be frowned upon now, and he'd be driving to the goal against a new breed of rim protectors

If you are under the age of 30, stfu, you aren't old enough to have appreciate MJ's work.

It doesn't matter how old somebody is to know that MJ averaging 50 is absurd.
