Seems to be a two man race between David Price and Dallas Keuchel as Sonny Gray will finish a distant 3rd.

Price:
18-5 w/l 2.45 era 220.1 innings 225 strikeouts 1.08 whip 60 earned runs allowed 190 hits allowed 47 walks allowed 3.5 war

Keuchel:
20-8 w/l 2.48 era 232 innings 216 strikeouts 1.02 whip 64 earned runs allowed 185 hits allowed 51 walks allowed 7.3 war

(stats from ESPN.com)

Personally I think Price deserves it, Dallas has some crazy home/road splits

Give it to Arrieta if Greinke wins the NL.

NL will be a really close race... I could see any of the 3 win and be ok with it....

Greinke has had the better season but Arrieta this 2nd half has been nothing short of phenomenal...

Give Greinke MVP and Arrieta the Cy Young (well minus Harper having a season for the ages )

Yeah it'll be super close in the NL, either guy is very deserving. AL I think will go to Price

Dallas being 5-7 with a 3.77 ERA on the road is concerning for me

I do not think your WAR on each pitcher is correct.

This is a toss-up. I could go either way.

went by ESPN and that is what they have... no idea if they calculate it themselves or if they pull it from someone else

The weirdest part to me about Keuchel being so much better at home is that it's in a park that is supposed to be unfriendly to lefties with the short porch in left. You would think his road splits would be better than they are.

He finished the season 15-0 at home, that's really impressive.

Minute Maid ranked 20th in runs scored among parks....
.925 score

Park Factor compares the rate of stats at home vs. the rate of stats on the road. A rate higher than 1.000 favors the hitter. Below 1.000 favors the pitcher. Teams with home games in multiple stadiums list aggregate Park Factors.

Is that just for this season?

Regardless it's 315 to left and Keuchel is a leftie. Right handed hitters love hitting at MMP because of how short left field is.

correct... just for this season, so Minute Maid has actually been more of a pitcher's park this year. They rank 9th in home runs allowed

Pretty sure they use Baseball Reference, but that massive difference does not seem right at all. WAR sucks if you are telling me that Keuchel is over twice as valuable as Price.

If I could take a screen shot, I would... I even went back and checked...

Just looked at baseballreference and they have Dallas at 7.3 and Price at 6.0. wonder if ESPN is only going by Price with the Jays vs over whole season.

That has to be it. Their stats are fairly similar. I think Fangraphs has Price with the slightly higher WAR.

Price is still my guy over Dallas in the AL... if Dallas had better road splits I would have him above Price
