I think the whole lot of them think the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Oh and that whole thing about no one knowing if they did it, including Ted wells

In-Game Penalties
quote:

Cheap shots and illegal hits are aggressively punished by the league because they put defenseless players in jeopardy of serious injury and threaten their very livelihood. Players who use illegal hits as part of their game give themselves an unfair advantage versus those who play by the rules.

And this gem:

quote:

The Cincinnati Bengals were up on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 14-13, with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter of their 2014 regular season game. The Bucs were driving and completed a pass for 21 yards to put them within field goal range when Marvin Lewis threw a challenge flag.

The only problem? Lewis wasn't technically allowed to throw a challenge inside of two minutes.

NFL rules state that all reviews have to come from the booth in the final two minutes. The result of Lewis' action was a charged timeout, which then gave the booth time to review the play. What they found was that Tampa Bay did indeed run the prior pass with 12 men on the field, thus resulting in a penalty.

So instead of a 21-yard gain, the Bucs had to move back 10 yards to make it second-and-20 on the 46-yard line. Tampa Bay failed to pick up a first down from there on out, thus ensuring the Bengals would win the game.

2 psi might be the biggest reach ever

If the majority of the NFL fan base is so rabid that they'd even care about the integrity of the game over something like this, then I will continue to step back

Tomlin trying to trip that guy wasn't met with this kind of outrage, it's all because we're a society that resents success and winning

Land sports just encapsulates that so perfectly. We used to celebrate Jordan, now we hate lebron. We used to love joe Montana and now we hate Tom Brady. Just what it is.

Just look at how this plays out every year
Saints - claims of cheating
Seahawks - claims of cheating
Patriots - claims of cheating

Every other title going back 15 years has claims of cheating or some kind of ill explained conspiracy. I'm starting to think the fans of the NFL just suck, and goodell is giving the people what they want

Why are the Patriots so worried about the suspension

Not sure if serious. Pats will be underdogs in every game without Brady. 0-4 start almost guarantees they miss the playoffs. But you think the draft pick is more important?

I agree and that's typically why I'm so anti the outrage. I love winners, I love dynasties and players that are the best of their generation and in some cases, all-time.

I don't support the team, but I appreciate winners.

I read the saints one, other than the Jeff Blake line, it's all garbage.

As far as Jeff Blake goes, I need some more information.

What were the rules then?
Was it done before or after official measurement?
Was it done on the field or were the balls stolen away into a room away from open view?

If you had pussy pics of one of the most famous and sexiest women on earth, would you want anyone reading your texts or going through your phone?

Let alone, this guy

Not a big deal at all, but these protestors were a decent little pr opportunity for Roger dodger. Send them some pizzas so they don't get hungry. Praise their passion and tenacity as a great reflection of the brand power. shite, invite them upstairs for an impromptu chat and make them like you (and then tell everyone how nice you were) But nope, I'll have a picture of passionate fans being led out in handcuffs

Time and time again, I'm amazed that goodell's supposed area of expertise is public relations

I posted this a few days ago, but one of the dumbest arguments I have heard yet was on Mike and Mike. Greenie argued that deflating balls is worse than other ways to cheat (stickum, vaseline, etc) because he hasn't heard about deflating before the AFC Championship game. He said if other QBs came out and admitted that it was more widely done then he'd have less of a problem with it. So his argument was basically that rule breaking is perfectly acceptable when everyone is doing it. But if you are breaking an obscure rule, it should be dealt with harshly.

Public relations is like the modern day Eastern Orthodox Christianity. It's all about the image, the visual

And this guy sucks at it. Is there anything more transparent than dressing up a bunch of native Americans in Redskins garb and trotting them out at halftime

And I would bet the farm that was a park avenue suggestion, not a dan synder original
