the tool that got the homer is this Zack Hample, a grown arse man who goes around collecting batting practice balls and other foul balls and has written a book about it. he isn't giving the yankees or arod the ball.

This guy seems like a douche and he is most likely still living in his mom's basement, but be honest. What would it take for you to give it up if you caught it? I'm sure as hell not giving A-Rod of all people a discount.

I would like to meet A-Rod and congratulate him. That's it.

I'm sure the Yankees would give you a pretty cool package for your gesture, like they did for the guy who caught Jeter's ball.

What if you live in another state though? I don't know or care if this douche lives there, but what would it honestly take for you to return it? If it was a player I liked or respected it wouldn't take much but I've always disliked him.

Use to love ARod when he was with the mariners

Probably my 2nd favorite at the time behind Griffey jr

Now he might be my least favorite player. It's close between him and Swisher

I like and respect A-Rod.

I'd give him the ball back.

I'd give A-Rod or the Yankees first right of refusal to buy the ball for whatever it's worth

Fans who don't honor the legacy of the game by giving balls like this back for reasonable compensation (bat, meet and greet, photo, etc) are less in line with the history of the game than guys who cheat for a competitive advantage (Cobb, Mays, Neikro, Bonds, Arod).

I don't root against him, but I definitely don't like or respect the guy. I wouldn't have been a dick about it, but certainly I would have tried to make some money selling the ball back to him and the Yankees.

You called the fan a douche 4 times in this thread. Now that he raised 150k for charity how do you feel?

he still is a douche.

And you don't think the Yankees would have donated to his charity anyway?

The Yankees would have hooked him up, to what extent is unknown.
