I read he took off an entire NFL season in order to take a pilgrimage to Mecca. Got to give him props for his devotion.

Or you could say he threw away a year of his prime to visit an imaginary friend

Edit: the problem is that it being called really depends on the refs. It's too damn inconsistent like the enforcement of removing the helmet rule.

Yep. Brett Keisel used to do a bow and arrow until some assclown zebra decided it was "simulating a weapon".

You are bowing to the worst poster on this board. That's how low you've gone.

I don't care at all about the religious aspect here, but how is this a penalized action but "Tebowing" and "Kaepernicking" isn't?

Later in the game Justin Huston got a sack, put his hands together in prayer, looked and pointed to the sky, no flag?

Yes, but the rules are designed to allow for prayer.

"well, are you gonna stop watching in protest"

I have a job where I can pick up extra hours on Sunday for double time and have never done it because of the NFL. Last year I started working, unless the Saints were on, and haven't missed the NFL at all. I still watch college but I rarely watch but fleeting quarters of any game that doesn't involve the Saints. Trust me, not a big deal and I love sports.

Because it is unsportsmanlike to pray in the end zone after a touchdown.

The refs flagged the 29-year-old veteran for dropping to his knees after the play, technically a violation of the league’s celebration rules. But it was rather apparent that Abdullah, a devout Muslim, was practicing the Sajdah, a religious prayer.

As former NFL referee Mike Pereira pointed out last season, going to one’s knees to give praise is exempt from that enforcement.

If the NFL tries to fine @HAbdullah39 for his TD celebration there's going to be some problems.

He was fined for sliding into the emdzone, not for praying. Abdullah even said so himself after the game he felt that way.
