I wish we could actually bet on this. I'd lay 5 units on under 6.5 wins for Ouachita. They're gonna be absolute garbage this year.

Are you taking bets as well? If so I'll put a couple hundo on WM over 10.5.

When is the last time WM has won less than 11 games? Gotta be in the 90s right? Or maybe one of those mid 2000 years when they lost in the 2nd round a couple times? Lord, I remember listening to one of those games on the radio and every time you turned around Shelby Aulds was fumbling the ball.

You might want to think twice on that Evangel over... They have a 9 game regular season and one of those is at Allen (TX)

So if they lose that, they have to run the table to go over

And if the wrong teams met in the playoffs and you were 1 win away, you'd be crying

Might be right. They have the best defense in the state though. I only foresee 1 maybe 2 losses on the year. 12-13 games vs 15 does make a massive difference though.

they also have East St. Louis, Parkway, and probably two playoff games that will be competitive

Grace King 0.5

I guess for Grace King, it will come down to their big early season matchup with Fisher, who was the only team they beat last year....

And on a side note, it is almost sad to note how Baton Rouge public school HS football has become utter garbage.

Last year:

Belaire was decent, but had to forfeit 5 games and ended up 1-9. All of their wins that they forfeited were over bad teams.

As far as "on the field" records, (not counting forfeit wins over Belaire), these are the records of the BR public schools:

Tara: 1-9
Glen Oaks: 0-10 and scored only 30 points all season.
Capitol: 1-9 (their only win was vs. 0-10 Mentorship Academy)
Broadmoor: 2-8 (they beat Glen Oaks and Belaire)
Woodlawn: 2-8 (1 win was vs. Tara)
Northeast: 4-6 (3 of their wins came against teams named above)
McKinley: 4-6 (2 of their wins came against teams named above)
Scotlandville: 10-0. They were legit

I remember back in the early 80's when HS football was big in the public schools in BR. Those days are very far gone and it is sad.

Acadiana did very well against Neville. Should be pretty stout this year. 5-A is pretty loaded.

Is Sulphur that good? I know they have a stud TE, but how is the rest of the team?

Not really, but they're a good program with a weak schedule... Not many obvious losses
