Personally, I want to see the 4 best conference champs in playoff than 4 so-called "best teams" according to bias polls.

If a team can't win its conference, that team doesn't deserve to be in playoff.

Silly, unrealistic, amateur idea. Not every team is in a conference, nor should they be so required.

It's not something Missouri will ever have to worry about.

According to opinion.

If a team wins a conference it's pretty clear cut...fair and square.

Win you fricking conference if you want to reach the playoffs.

I think Penn State is better than Ohio State...they even have a better offense and quarterback. But I guess the eye test doesnt matter

Hypothetical:

Let's say a team is undefeated going into a conference championship.

The team on the other side has 4 losses, they beat the undefeated team.

You still sticking by that argument?

You mean the better offense that had 74 yards in the second half against our defense?

Because what happens on the field doesn't matter apparently.

Literally everything else matters except what happens on the field...to Ohio State fans anyways.

Yes because that should be considered the first round of a three round playoff. Win ur conference to get in!! So ur argument is team A goes undefeated and loses the nation championship game to team B who happens to be a two loss team , team A should still be the national champs?

I think it should be "Four Most Deserving" over "Four Best Polled" because the most deserving are the teams that did what they had to ON THE FIELD to win their conference.

And to the dipshit that said "not all teams are in a conference", well quite frankly that must change and eventually will change. Independence in a system built around leagues is fricking stupid. The playoff will change the whole notion of independence. There will be a point when BYU and Notre Lame will be forced to join a conference if they want a chance at a playoff appearance.
