Will make great trade bait after two years in the system. May be able to snag a couple of washed up 3-4 hole hitters and a middle reliever one year from retirement.

What do they care? The Astros are the most profitable team in mlb. See forbes, too lazy to link.

If there's a cant miss slugger in next year's draft class, I'd rather that than Rodon.

Glad I'm not as big a baseball fan as I used to be.

Better times are ahead of us. Luhnow has a plan, and they're doing it the right way so that we can sustain long term success.

I can't stand bandwagon fans, so all you guys are good in my book for sticking by the team even though we've sucked more arse than humanly possible these past 3 years

I am lucky to have CSN, and I ended up watching more baseball games this season than I have in the last two combined. the draw for me was watching some younger players develop. We have a few guys up now who can stick and be good: Castro, dominguez, Cosart, Obie, Villar, Grossman, all fun to watch. Altuve is a good stop gap player. With the wave of studs coming up in the next two years we will be built for long term winning at the ML level starting in 2016

I've actually enjoyed following these kids gain experience.

Jonathon Villar, @ 22, doesn't have a slash line that is terrible for a 22 year old. If he improves, you're looking at a legit leadoff.

Following the future in the minors have been entertaining. REALLY looking forward next year with Springer starting in CF.

Grossman - Springer - Hoes

Possibly a veteran. Maybe they'll bring Pence back for the rebuild process.

If the Astros didn't have possibly the worst bullpen in history, you're looking at less than 100 losses, IMO.

JUST FIX THE frickING BULLPEN. They have guys coming up starting next year.

Well we have 2 first round picks now, and if we keep on losing(winning for Rodon) we'll have more money to sign stars of the future!

Don't forget about Barnes.

That dude is so fun to watch. And a scrappy little ball player

Pitching wins championships as they say. With Appel and Rodon, that's two potential aces in the rotation. As of right now I'm on the Rodon train but there's a long way till June

This is next year's roster IMO.

Lineup (variable)

C-Castro
1B-Singleton
2B-Altuve
3B-Dominguez
SS-Villar
LF-Barnes
CF-Springer
RF-JD Martinez

DH/Bench (variable)

Wallace
Hoes
Carter
Corpy
Elmore or Marwin

Rotation

Lyles
Cosart
Obie
Keuchel
Harrell (but will be replaced by Appel at some point)

Bullpen

Clemens
Cruz
Bedard
Cisnero
Chapman
Fields
Alex White

At some point in the season we should see Folty, David Martinez, Buchanan, Wojo, etc. so no spot in the bullpen is safe.

I have a feeling we will see Japhet before we see Singleton

There's no way either of them are on the MLB team. Martinez may be, but I just don't see him fitting in unless he makes a complete 180. He's going to the Mexican leagues over the winter to try to brush up on skills.

Japhet Amador will be on the parent club before Singleton. Singleton is still a year out. He really struggled at AAA.

Harrell is as good as gone, IMO. I think he gets traded in the winter meetings. He doesn't want to be there. Management doesn't want him. It's a bad relationship.

I think/hope they sign 2-3 bullpen pieces and make a run at Pence in FA.

possibly. Singleton is clearly immature and missing the 50 games for dope hurt him this year. he never caught up to his projected ability at AAA. I think he'll stay in AAA all next season as well. we'll see Wallace/CARTER/maybe Castro at 1B

Nothing will beat the tv record we set Sunday. Only a .043 share or 984 households watched the game on television.

Quite possibly. But I think we ride it out with Wallace/Carter until June and then call one of them up
