I felt that way for a long time. Since the Astros moved to the AL, I've changed my mind. DH produces more exciting, albeit less strategic, baseball.

Just because most AL managers don't know how to properly execute a double switch doesn't mean it's better.
fricking hate when the Yankees play in NL parks because Joe Retardi ALWAYS has to make at least one double switch per series just to look cool and show that he knows how because DON'T FORGET HE USED TO MANAGE IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE.

When you're a fan of a NL team, you view the AL as the less "pure" way to play the game. When you watch pitchers bat everyday you're used to it. Moving over to the AL made me realize how shitty watching pitchers bat really was. Now when we travel to the NL it's a pain watching the automatic out walk up to the plate.

I changed my tune pretty quick. It's nice to not have a pitcher come up and kill a rally or give the opposing pitcher an automatic out. Pitchers this year are hitting .119 with a .152 OBP. Striking out 37% of the time. And those pitcher home runs that are so much fun....12 in 2600 at bats. Pitchers batting had its place in the past. But in an age of specialized roles, advanced scouting and everybody throwing 95.... pitchers as hitters stand 0 chance against modern pitchers. They're automatic outs.
