you can not leave off Verne's comment on the same play.. 'Wouldn't it be an incomplete pass?'

Vern, asking if it would be an incomplete pass was worse! Danielson wasn't sure if they recovered it before the ball/player went out of the endzone.

That's not nearly as epic as Verne's "isnt it an incomplete pass?" line.

And I still don't get how the 2 were going back and forth during the review. It was a TD no matter if he got in or fumbled, then fell on it.

naw it wasn't a TD if he fumbled before the goaline. they'd have it at the one

you can't fumble and advance it, then recover it yourself i don't think

I always thought that rule only applied on 4th down?

I think.

pretty sure you can in college. Didn't that happen in the BSU-Fresno game where the guy ran down and recovered a fumble in the endzone?

verne asked if the arky rb had stepped out of bounds one time on a td run because the officials didnt call a td. but the guy was no where near going out of bounds, they had thrown a penalty flag for holding.

i think it has to do with time, but i could be wrong

they were also prolly reviewing if his body was out of bounds when he recovered, b/c that'd be a touchback

Yea, I think that is correct, unless it is 4th down, then you can't advance a fumble on your own.

you can recover a fumble at any time, however you cant advance with a fumble in the last 2 minutes or on 4th down, unless you recover you own fumble

So, then it was stupid that they were debating the point for 5 minutes during the review, since it was a TD regardless,

they were all over the place trying to figure out what was going on, but he was very close to having a part of his body out of the back off the endzone when he recovered the ball

Oh, I agree that it was ok to review it cause he was close to being out of bounds.

But Verne and Gary talked about the play for 5 minutes like they had no idea whether it would be a TD or not. After 1 look at the replay, it was obvious, a no brainer that it was a TD.

But Verne was calling for an incomplete pass, so I guess that answers that, lol.

This is stupid. I didn't see this play, but the same rule should apply for all 60 minutes. There shouldn't be any special fumble rule on 4th down or in the last 2 minutes.

The Chargers would disagree
