New rules say players can do this and go through the pre-draft process without hurting their eligibility.

They will get to workout with and talk with coaches and scouts. See what they think and then go back to school.

Nothing to see here.

How many of those 182 signed an agent? Each player can file their name once and withdraw by a certain day in May if they don't hire one

Its fine. And going the D League route is now not nearly the salary burden it used to be, either.

Most of these guys aren't going to walk away with a 4 year degree that pays them a 100K a year.

A great many will return to college ball, as well.

Yeah, touring Europe making $50,000+ as a 20 year old doesn't sound bad to me

The fill out the roster types can make up to $100k per season. Some of this money is off the books. The good clubs house you and take care of your expenses so a lot of your salary can be banked if that's your goal. If you become a star, you can make much much more.

There's a ton of competition for the spots on established clubs though. There's money to be made with the off the beaten path leagues but it is not stable and comes with a ton of headaches. A had a flight and the guy next to me was playing somewhere in Russia and he said the team would have to threaten to boycott games or the owners wouldn't pay. Said he made $4000 per game though. He assumed the teams and leagues were run by the mob and only existed as a sports betting option because hardly anyone would be at the games but the roster was probably running them 30-40k per game.
