Anybody who doesn't think they would have defended their team to death given the same set of circumstances is being dishonest. Let's say Aggie was 11-1 with a win at the Big 12 champ and Ole Miss won the conference despite a 39 point loss and also had an out of conference loss. You'd be screaming for your team to be in, especially if your loss was to Ole Miss in fluky fashion.

of course. but the bottom line is the conference system determines who deserves to go. is Ohio State a better team than Penn State, probably. but they lost the game on the field where everything is supposed to be decided.
the Patriots were probably better than the Giants in 2008 too, but they played to determine a champion and the Giants earned it

I understand why Ohio State got in. They had the better resumé. But, at the end of the season, I didn't think they were a better team than PSU. Ohio State was more deserving, but I didn't think they were a better team when the season ended.
Of course, we don't know how Penn State will look after the layoff.
