Not sure if this is the correct board or not, but I am looking for thoughts/opinions on this development (commercial not residential). Considering relocating a retail business to this development. Current location is off Highland at the South Gates of LSU.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

ETA: Lived in Baton Rouge until May 2012. I know the area fairly well but this development was in early stages when I moved.

Well...it depends on what the business is. Can't be cheap space over there. Its a decent location and with Byronz opening it might pull interest from a larger area.

Women's clothing boutique. Not cheap but not as high as I was guessing.

The second building is going up and Carmouche is doing I think four. The rear of the neighborhood is eventually supposed to tie into the property he is developing behind Dicks Sporting goods.

For what you are doing, if the rent is where you are comfortable, I think the place will do well. It will be big enough without being too big if that makes sense. Great location with a light to get traffic in and out and Byronz will do very well so you will have consistent foot traffic. I haven't heard any other tenents but I'm sure you have an idea what else is negotiating to see if they compliment what you are doing.

If you are mid to upscale I would think its a good setup. Much better than Perkins Rowe in my opinion. I believe it will end up being a bit older crowd and a ton of money is in that area.

Good luck.

Another space is the Carriages women's store in Bocage. It is closing after about 20 years because the lady that ran it is going somewhere else. Not because of business according to them. I'm sure Dr Hill would love to see someone take that space with probably favorable lease rates.

Not sure if you are looking that way but just spittballing.
