Who’s in O&P?

I’m about $35,000 in oil & petroleum stocks in my play money account. It’s a little less than half of this portfolio. Most of these are up 10-30% from where I bought in with ET and PAA up over 110%. I bought these for nice dividends and thought they were all undervalued. Never bought the oil is dead argument.
If you are in O&P, are you expecting these to take off with Russian oil being blocked from the broad market and limited new investment due to political eco pressure? These stocks are definitely going to make a lot of profit the next few years but that may not translate to the stock price. I never thought of O&P as growth stocks but now I’m not so sure.
Just wondering what others are thinking.

I’ll always hold oil in my portfolio, particularly American oil. My money is on Chevron and Hess right now

I’m in ET, PAA, DRLL, EPD, BP, and PSX.
I sold XOM at $105 in 2022 to take big profits after buying in $30s in 2020 but might get back in on that if the P/E drops to 10.
I’ve always thought of O&P as short term or dividend plays but am really wondering what others are thinking of growth potential long term now.

I am in VET, DVN and BTE.
Yes I expect a good second half of the year. Cap Ex has been historically low the last five years. OPEC seems to want to keep their cuts in place. Many seem to think there will be a deficit in 2025. All good signs.

ET since the crash and recently added MNR and wanting to add more of it. Not so much for the dividend, but think they are in a really oil friendly area and have lots of growth coming their way.

I am in VDE, DVN and RIG right now. Planning on adding SLB pretty soon.

I’ve been in and out of RIG in the past. Never did great with it.

My favorites are MTDR and DINO
Small but steady positions in XOM, VLO and OXY
TPL is kind of a shot in the dark at this point. It used to be a steady royalty producer that bought back shares regularly but it's unpredictable now because the board wants to do acquisitions.

Thanks everyone for opening your kimonos. I got exposed to some stocks I hadn’t been thinking about. BTE is not only a great band, it’s also an undervalued Canadian oil stock apparently! I could see Canadian oil taking off once Trudeau is out…which is probably happening soon.

I was heavily invested in O&P from 2010 to 2015. I moved out of some stuff and got crushed in 2016-2019 in other energy stocks. I still hold a few but not much. I could have escaped in 2015, but I really thought the situation for US energy companies was going to improve in 2016 so I bought more of the stuff I should have sold.
