I priced mine (term) to replace net income for 10 years, but factored in conservative dividends and interest on the lump sum in an account that would be withdrawn from on a monthly basis. Assuming my survivors are disciplined, it would be more than enough money.

I'm actually much more concerned about the "other man" getting his hands on my kids' money than some other man providing for them. Much more of the former out there than the latter.

As long its an A rated company with decent options to convert to you should be fine. Converting to permanent is rarely needed but if needed its very important
