Where to find what a property sold for?

Not a house but actual land, isn't there Gov data base or something that you can look up sales in?

clerk of court's office in said parish or county where property is located

Besides the clerk of court, you might check if the tax assessor for that parish or county has a online property tax database. Entering the property description or address will usually give the last sale price the property is being assessed on.
