Any recommendations?

Congratulations - you loaned less of your money to the gubmint tax free last year. Keep working at that and maybe you'll owe a little bit in a few years and really get ahead of the game.

(I'm 100% serious - every reasonable person should strive to slightly underwithhold - for this very reason.)

I paid slightly more in federal and state taxes at the job I was making less money at but I don't feel like there was enough of a difference to reduce my refund over 50%.

so you paid more in taxes when you made less money and you are surprised that at the new job where you paid less taxes on more money that you overpaid by less during the year?

if i am understanding this correctly, you do not deserve the raise.

Did you get any credits last year like Earned Income Tax Credit that you aren't getting this year?

Put last year's return side by side with this years return and see where the difference ends up being.

I noticed that withholding has been reducing the last few years even it you do not change your marital status or deductions.
