Russian - what should I look at for an exit position from this?

It looks like it has trouble at about $22 since May, except for that bump from late August to mid September - $21 6/8 would be up $2 1/2 that would be about 12% (for me).

Does this thing move primarily on the spot price of silver?

I don't know about him, but I'm going to ride it up to between 22-23

Looks like that is about where it runs up to then drops back.

I think it's a combination of spot and futures prices.

That depends on your risk tolerance.

I adhere to Warren Buffett's saying, "No one ever lost money by taking profits."

I just started this year - I've lost money on a put option, but I haven't lost money on an equity buy, yet. I don't do a good job of putting in stops, but I get a feel for a stock and *knocks on wood* haven't lost any money at the exit point.

Over 5 months, I've dabbled in a little bit of everything - dividends, pennies, an undervalued REIT - this is my play money, "found money", if you will. I just don't know anything about metals. If this thing can double in 3 or 4 years, after halving by January, I can live with that. I mean, silver is never going to be worth nothing, right?

I can live with that - I think I got it pretty low - I may just let it ride for awhile. If it jumps to $22 pretty quickly, I might just take the money and run.

Apparently, me neither.

Remember the Hunt fiasco? (Okay, maybe I do know a little about metals, but only obscure historical stuff - not actually how to "make money" with them. )

I've studied about it in history if that helps.

If you had been on this board about 3 or 4 years ago when precious metals made their big move up you would have read numerous posts predicting gold was going to hit $5,000/oz and silver was going over $100/oz. I was not one of those posters.

Same types of nuts who make dire predictions about AGW - dangerous to assume that a complex system will not adjust to changing conditions.

Oh, and I just put a stop in on SLV at $18.55 - I know enough to know that I don't know anything.

See, I don't see PM's like a normal stock... Its not like Silver is going to go out of business and you will lose everything.

I can let it sit for a few months and go from there.

I'm gonna be in at $19.00. I think $20,000 is a good number.
