For those of you who are small business owners, how many of you prepared a business plan to present for loan approval? And how many of you are still using this business plan today as a "working document?"

I have been working on mine for quite some time now, seeking advice from my mentors and people I trust. This is a daunting but necessary task, as everyone has a differing opinion. I'm also planning to meet with two outside mentors, provided by Baton Rouge SCORE in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, I am also searching for real estate. Once done, I plan to submit to local banks and credit unions. Any recommendations on who I should speak with (SB7a loan)?

Did we figure out your business yet? I am thinking "LaserWash". Good luck Will.

Good luck Will.

I fulfilled my work obligations through the end of last month (after giving proper notice) and walked away from a very high-paying job in the process to pursue something that I am very passionate about.

One of my biggest regrets in life is not starting my own business.

I'm pulling for you brother.

After many long days and nights of thinking and over-thinking my situation, I firmly believe at this time I made the right decision. In the long run, time will tell, but for now, as long as I have my wife's support and my two children, that is all that I need.

Good luck. I'm assuming we will never find out what the business is?

Perhaps, in time, however at this time, and for obvious reasons, I can't specify what I am working on for fear that someone else who has a lot more knowledge, experience and money may capitalize on what I believe is a great opportunity.

Is it third party vehicle buying advice for dummies? When I buy (inundate you with questions), will you honor the current $0 service rate for my having bookmarked your advice prior to startup?
