Overpaid credit card

Has anyone ever done this? do they just credit your account?

They give you a credit on your next statement. If you close the account you can call them and they'll send you a check.

I once overpaid a small balance credit card by mistake with what I owed to one with a much larger balance. I called them and they sent me a check for the overpayment. No hassle at all except for me feeling foolish.
