Purchased a brand new vehicle from showroom floor in July of ‘22. Late November, had to bring in regarding sloshing water sound near dash. Dealership kept for 2 weeks said adjusted a seal but nothing wrong after testing for 5 hours.

Got car back and had to bring back a couple of days later bc same problem.

They got car back December 15th and it is still in shop, said they are still having leaking problem. Windshield was not sealed properly now 12 electrical pins are corroded. Obviously car was damaged when we got it. No accidents or windshield replacements.

We do not feel safe in car and I feel like we lost our sale/trade in value unfairly. Plus once electrical damage, I’m sure it will cause further damage down the line.

Do we have a case to get a replacement?

I fought with sales representatives and managers for months regarding a similar issue in my wife’s engine. Long story short, the engine was shot when we bought it and they claimed no knowledge of the issue. Well one day I said you know what, I’m tired of hearing the same thing from everyone I speak to, let me chat with the general manager or owner, and our months long dispute was resolved within an hour.

Moral of the story, don’t waste your time with sales department, go directly to the top, they’ll do the right thing for you and the business, hopefully.

My car got flooded once, but the water barely hit the floorboard. I started to notice some small electrical issues and brought the car to a specialist who deals with car electrical issues. Although he fixed what he could, he advised me to trade in the car immediately. He said the car would continue to have small electrical issues for the rest of us lifespan.

I went through this last summer. Had a Ford Explorer < 15k miles. Battery was dead one morning, got a new battery and battery died within 3 days (and continued this pattern). I took it to Ford dealership 3 times. The last time it was there for a month and they couldnt figure out the electronics issue so I started researching Lemon Law.

I ended up sending a certified letter to Ford detailing the issue and dates of service and citing the Lemon Law (this is your step 1). If the car is new and you have to bring to shop for same issue 4 times or 90 days out of commission for same issue I think the Lemon Law applies. You have to give them a reasonable amount of time to fix.

Ford assigned a rep to work with me. They reimbursed me for car plus tax less milesge driven. They reimbursed me for ubers I had to take to/from work. It ended up being a very fair experience all things considered.
