I took a new job back in January 2014. No retirement until my 1 year anniversary, which is this month. I'm not eligible for a simple IRA, which I signed up for and my company matches 3%. The account is with Charles Schwab. My previous job did not provide retirement benefits, so for the past few years I've been contributing to an IRA that I opened with Edward Jones. Should I keep both and contribute to both?

I think you meant your new company's 401K not IRA. Yes, once you become eligible you can contribute to both.

I meant to say that I became eligible for my new company's IRA

I'm assuming you have been contributing to a Roth ira on your own. Either way, you can have multiple Ira accounts. They don't have to be consolidated in one place.
