Glad to hear some kids actually still work in college!

When I was a freshman I tutored basketball players for minimum wage. It was quite an experience.

Your story seems familiar. I learned that I had to study twice as hard as some others to get passing grades in college. That means I’m not the smartest knife in the drawer. I ended up going to college part time. It was a lot tougher but it worked for me. Going to class at night and on weekends was a great release from pressure at work. I forgot about work as soon as I walked into the classroom. My grades went way up. I actually looked forward to class. How many college students can say that?

It appears that you like sports (rugby). Try getting into officiating. You stay connected to the game and get paid. Plus you will end up knowing more than 90% of the players. Officiating in one sport can lead to others.
Good luck.

You got hosed. I have a friend who is pulling $60 an hour as a tutor for high schoolers. Unreal.

So you are saying rugby is more important than money. That's fine but quit your bitching.

When did I say that?
I dont understand what you are saying. I work AND play rugby. It doesnt get in the way of me working. Its not more important money, and I never said that; however, if I dont play rugby, I will get no excercise. I really dont want to start working on the freshman 50..

Im not bitching or complaining, I am just looking for help. Im trying to find suggestions, and take them all into account. Chances are I probably wont quit, but I started this thread to get ideas in case I do. Thank you to the people who really gave advice.
