LSU's Internal Auditing Weekend Series

Anyone know anything about it? Considering getting into internal audit, but don't want to enroll back in school and go through the undergrad program. Series costs $4k to get you prepared to take the CIA exam. No course credit, it's just a 5-month deal to prepare for the exam, rather than the 3-semester course for students.
Price seems pretty steep for basically a test prep series and wanted to get any feedback on how tough the CIA exam actually is?
And if anyone's gone through this program, do they help you at all in job placement?

heck, with some prospective employers, the LSUCIA designation on the resume is enough to get hired.

How hard is the CIA exam? Does this series sound worth it, or is this something that can be studied for independently by someone who has no backround/training in audit?

I passed the CIA exam on my own while studying at night after work. I had auditing experience in my job as a cost accountant in the wood and paper mill industry. I thought the exam was very challenging, but through hard work I passed it. I used the gleim CIA review books. I was also exempt from one part because I had obtained a CPA license. I enjoyed acheiving this designation. I am currently trying to get into the field of internal auditing as a full time career, but there are not a lot of opportunities in louisiana at this time...

how long would you say you studied per section?

I'm sure the class would be good, but if you are solely wanting to pass the CIA exam, I would get the Gleim manuals. They aren't too expensive and explain everything in great detail.
As for time on each section, it really depends on your strengths. I think part 3 is Accounting and Information Technology, which is by far the hardest part. If you have strengths in those two areas then the rest should be pretty easy.
I forgot which part is Accounting, but

I spent probably 8 weeks at two hours per night for 2 sections, so probably four hours per night for 3 parts at about 8 weeks.
