Looking for salary negotiation advice

I have an official offer coming my way in the next week or two. Some background info:
-It's with the same company I work for right now
-The company created a new team and recruited me to be on this team.
-There are different branches within the team, and 3 of the different branch leaders are fighting over me to be on their branch, so my skillset is in demand. I was contacted by the person running the show the other day and she asked which branch I would prefer the most.
-While its not a supervisory or management position this is definitely a step up. I do not consider it to be a lateral move. This new team requires a higher level skillset and specialization than what I do right now.
I guess the advice I am looking for is what would be considered a fair opening offer based on the details I gave. Should the salary increase I am looking for be based on a percentage of what I make now or a dollar amount increase.
Basically what would be a fair increase in salary here. What should I be looking for. 10%? 20%? Higher? If I really did impress them as much as they say I do and I really am being fought over I should have leverage, right?

How much you making now?

Sure. Although, it would help to know what your bases is now lol.

Since you're making around $35K now, I wouldn't take anything under $40K.

Based upon your post I would think 10% is reasonable.

Go for 25% and wait for a counter.

Make sure HR sees it that way. Heck, you should know as well.
The company I work, each position in the company has an official ranking. It's easy to see what way you're heading.

Manager
Supervisor
Sr Analyst
Analyst II
Analyst I
Coordinator

I am an Analyst I right now. Position I am going to be offered is Analyst II.

Just went through a very similar exercise at my job. Not necessarily a promotion, not a lateral move. Picked up additional responsibilities, but kept my old ones too.
Basically was offered a 15% base pay raise, plus the opportunity to get a bonus in the new duties as well as stay in the bonus structure of the old role. I was happy with that.

Looks like I will shoot for 15%. Also going to try to negotiate in a signing bonus.

Seems fair. If not a signing bonus, maybe try to get bonus up to 15%.

Dam son. No wonder you are so miserable living up there. That's a very low salary for that area

If you can't get a signing bonus, possibly shoot for an extra week of vacation.
