I was just browsing a site and saw an ad for 3D printed jewelry.

Is anyone here involved in small time 3D printing for fun or profit?

I have not heard much about it over the past few years. Just wondering if there is a particular market for an individual to print and sell?

That's interesting.

I don't know much about 3D printers aside that the good ones cost about $10,000.

I assume that you have to have some sort of blueprint to make things. Then again, I dont know if you can sit down and just go freestyle.

I'm buying a 3d printer GoPro mount for $60 cheaper than an aluminum one. I don't plan on breaking it, but if I do I'll buy another one and still be ahead.

I feel like things are so cheap and readily available now that the only markets profitable would be illegal ones.

Fwiw, go pro doesn't make a mount like the one I am buying. Its not a knock off of anything. Its just how they chose to make it.

3D printing is a long way off from being competitive with other manufacturing processes in terms of cost/piece.
