Is anyone going to go for the Ferrari (vanity) IPO?

A couple of people I know from car and racing boards are all jazzed about this one. I referred to it as a vanity IPO because they don't seem to care about P/E or anything else. They just want to own a sliver of Ferrari. Hey, what do I know... maybe it will be a winner. Or, like the stock that many of us bought in CART IndyCar years ago (MPH) =

$8.5B valuation? I don't know any of the metrics, but on first take, I would have expected more.

Fiat-Chrysler got a decent pop today after the range for the Ferrari IPO was announced. With the valuation of Ferrari being nearly half of what Fiat-Chrysler is, this situation reminds me a little bit of Yahoo and Alibaba... except that Marchionne is a real deal CEO, and not just a media created, smoke & mirrors CEO.

if you dont know any of the metrics...why are you opining that it's low?
