I inherited about 700 shares of ibm stock recently...should I keep it or move it into another stock....I would also like to cash out some of it and remodel my house...any thoughts on this

If you are happy with this portion of your portfolio in tech I'd roll this in to VGT or XLK and call it a day.

Throws a decent dividend.. If I were you I would 1. cash some out and remodel like you want. 2. depending on your portfolio size, take half(?) roll into something else
112K is a lot of money to me so that's what I would do.
edit: This is also contingent that you don't have any outstanding debt to pay off.

Did you inherit it recently? Might want to keep it there for one year for capital gains tax. Not sure how all that works with inherited stock.

Gains are calculated from date of benefactor's death
