So last year I signed up for my company's dependant care FSA to save money on our little ones day care during the year. Both the wife and I work full-time. The money for the DCA was to be withdrawn starting the first paycheck of the year. With daycare being so expensive here, I elected to withold the max amount ($5k).

Well the first paycheck of the year came and went, and of course the money was withdrawn. The company providing the service clearly states the money is supposed to be transferred to the DCA the day of withholding (I.e. payday). So at the end of month I check my DCA balance and notice only 2 of 3 paycheck withholdings have made their to the DCA. I double check my first paycheck and sure enough the money was witheld, but not transferred into my DCA.

I have already notified HR, and twice have been told the issue was resolved, yet my account balance on my DCA is still missing money from my first paycheck. My next action is to contact the company directly and see what can be done. My last option will be to notify my bosses and see if the company will simply refund my first withholding minus applicable taxes.

Anyone on the Money Board have any good suggestions?

The company that provides the DCA should be able to send you a list of deposits with dates indicated of receipt. Take that list to HR with all of your paycheck stubs.

It's your money and I have little patience for HR trolls that screw up payroll and don't work immediately to fix it.
