How to hire non US workers?

Anyone familiar with the taxes and benefits part of hiring a non US citizen to work remotely. My company has been asked to staff some engineers with some specialty skills for a client. Would they have to pay taxes on income in both US and their country of residence? What about health care benefits?

I do this and my accountant has told me it is only a matter of time before i get a hand slap.
That said, there are a few ways to do this by the book.
1. They apply and get an ITIN number (anyone can get one) and set up an LLC inside the USA.
2. Another is just use a 3rd party company that handles all this.
I just send mine money though WISE.

You get downvoted to hell when you bring up if your job can be done remotely that companies will switch from paying high paying Americans to low paid foreigners but it plays out again and again.

I figured that would be a response but this isn’t a low paying position. It is six figures plus. If there was a US based option, I would love to grab them up. Client wants specific skills and these resources identified have have worked with some of their team remotely in the past.

No they wouldn’t have to pay taxes in both countries. Just their country of residence. If they don’t work or live in the US, there’s no requirement. No for healthcare benefits. They wouldn’t be able to use the healthcare benefits because they don’t live here.
Your biggest thing to look at is compliance in the prospects’ country. This is a situation where the technology and practice is way ahead of the laws and regulations. there’s a lot of gray area and little enforcement.

I have two non US workers for my law firm. They do everything a US worker can do, but for a lot cheaper

Upwork, check it out. Beyond that I’m not really sure, if you are looking to hire multiple positions at 6 figures plus I’d think you’d have some professional firm options to help you out.
Also, at 6 figures plus I’d be surprised you couldn’t find some WFH Americans but what do I know.

It won't stop. I only hire American for VERY specific tasks that I can't get a Filipino worker to do.
Why would I pay am American $6,000 a month when I get the same quality of work (often better) for $1,000 a month?

The obvious answer is to keep your money American. I’m not opposed to your thoughts, but you gotta know saying that is going to anger some people on here.
The reality is there’s never been a better time to work from home online. But working online does make your job doable internationally, so I also don’t think there’s a major issue looking internationally for talent.

Of course it will. I care about making money, not peoples feelings on this website.
If we lived in the America from the 1990s or before I would only hire American. But now, I identify very little with what our American values have become.

We have a 3rd party vendor that takes care of that and we just pay them monthly to provide the employee, and they take care of paying them, etc. We write one check.
