Home in Foreclosure

Can someone explain to me how to get the contact information for a home in foreclosure. There is a house in my neighborhood that I know has been empty for at least 5 years. There is a property maintenance company cutting the lawn but anytime I've tried to contact them about purchasing the home, they can't give me any information. The tax rolls still show the homeowner that owned the home before it was foreclosed.
Any other suggestions?

Contact a realtor or real estate attorney to do a title search.

You could just do what the attorney would do - take a morning off, go down to the courthouse and search the foreclosure records. It may be bank owned or owned by HUD/Fannie/Freddie or it may be privately owned.
Surprised the foreclosure process hasn't been completed yet, but that's odd that the tax info has not been updated.

The property tax info is usually public information, sometimes it takes them awhile to update the website but you can call the county and ask.
It would be a shot in the dark, but you could contact the "owners". Its possible to work out a short sale with them, it helps them out and the bank. If someone is mowing the grass though, the bank already owns it.
