Got it reduced by $24k... I was actually off in my quick thinking, I was asking for 32k off.


I possibly, maybe, could have gone in front of the review board and gotten a little bit more off, but in the scheme of things, it would have only equated to $100 or so in taxes. Not worth my fricking time to go sit there for an hr again.

Hr or longer. Review board is a whole different beast. You may have done better... or worse.

24K is nothing to sneeze at.

Yeah, I sat there and did the calculations and when it was done, the best I could have saved if they gave me what I was going for is no tax increase, which right now with the 2013-2014 increase, I'm about $200 more than last year.

However they could have given me the finger and rejected the offer he made and I would have ended up paying $600 or so to go before them.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
