Had a minor accident - do I file a claim or not?

Quick recap:
I rear ended someone and took on some very minor damage to the front of my truck. The other car in the accident had no damage at all, shockingly. She was cool with not even calling the police about the accident, but we both eventually agreed that it might be a good idea (yeah, I'm an idiot.. I know).
Anyway, she says she won't file a claim.
Now..it's around $1000 in repairs for my truck, and I'm contemplating not filing. I have a $500 deductible, but I'm not sure if saving $500 up front won't end up costing me even more with my insurance going up due to the accident.
What say you money talk? Should I file?
ETA - and if I'm wrong on how all of this works, please don't give me too much shite . Would appreciate some real advice

Can't substantiate, but my inclination is not to file thinking that the premium will increase and I could recoup the $1,000 out of pocket in a short time relative to the long lasting increase in the premium.

I'd just pay out of pocket

Or not file if it's that minor

Shop around for cheapest repairs and pay out of pocket. Insurance will end up screwing your over with increased premiums

That's what I thought

Pay out of pocket. I made the mistake of filing when I did the same thing, but had about 1200 in repairs to the person I hit. The premium increase I got hit with that lasted 3 years was much more, I'll never make that mistake again.

Just hope her neck/back doesn't start hurting in the next few months.

Insurance policies have a section that details your duties as an insured. One of them is timely notification of any losses. If you pay for the damages, the company can deny any future claim related to this accident. If the other driver sues you for bodily injury (neck?back) down the road, you're on the hook. It's better to file the claim when there is 3rd party damage/injury, and you're the at fault party.
