I had to withdraw some of my 401K due to being unemployed for the better part of 6 months, but I didn't have to pay the stiff penalty since it falls under an allowed withdrawal.

However, my return (always lower) hardly matches what turbotax estimates.

No. I found work in late October but it's contract work in Atlanta.

Are you saying turbo tax always calculates higher than what it actually is? Why do you think that is?

No idea. I'll find out in a little more than a week on this return.

I started my taxes using two different services and received two different estimates for my return. They were different by about $500. Neither was turbo tax, though.

I have used the on-line Deluxe w/state e-file for years and never any issues. Wife & I's W-2's and about 40/50 1099int,div,B & several schedules and it is very quick and easy. Carries from year to year.

Online premier

couldve just used deluxe but i thought premier would solve my problems. Waste of $20.

I had to put in every basis for every sale. What. A. Pain.

You couldn't import the info from the financial institution? (although I could see people being uncomfortable with that)

with online version, you cant import a txi(sp?) file. you can on the disc or download version

Fortunately, Gainskeeper comes free on my accounts. Unfortunately, it won't enter it for you, unless you pay them
