DBA vs trade name filing - advice

I've formed an LLC that will be operating under the parent name of the company I'm licensing. I've already filed my articles of organization. Would it be better to file a DBA with the local parish Clerk of Court or to file a Trade name with the Sec. of State?
What are the pros and cons to each if any, or are they just different routes for the same end result?
TIA

Not entirely sure in LA, but in Texas we file assumed name certificates in both the county and SOS office. Would think best practices would be to file in both.

The La. SOS office has a Trade name registration form and the local clerk of court has an assumed named form.
I'll just spend a little extra and over-cover my a**
