Our company gave every employee 5 shares of stock today. It fully vests in 3 years.
Any tax implications up front or only if I sell ?

My company hits you for taxes after it vest and it goes into a separate account. It shows as income the year it vest.

I see we work for the same company. I thought we were going to hear a retirement announcement rather than a stock gift

This is what they did after gifting us the 5 shares in 2014.
