I just set up a Roth IRA account with CS, get on there and I cannot find how I can add funds from my Wells Fargo checking account beyond a wire transfer that will cost $30. Anyone use Charles Schwab and have a way to add funds that I somehow cannot find? Are there easier companies to deal with that I should try instead?

The best way is to open their standard Equities bank account, transfer money into that. Then transfer from that into your Roth.
They don't have a good means outside of mailing in a check or going into a local Brick and Mortar to deposit directly into a retirement account. You may also set up auto deposits on a monthly or what have you basis.

Ok, thanks, I will look into it. I saw you could use WFSurePay to send to other institutions using a third party site but they aren't a member of that system.

You can ACH to/from 3rd party accounts free of charge, on their regular taxable accounts at least. Go to the transfers tab and add your other bank account.

You can do this on their Roth IRAs as well. I do it from Capital One

Thank you. I checked that page and it seemed like it was only to transfer out of my account to another. I will look at it again though, appreciate the help.

You can create a new external account on the Transfers and Payments tab, then the External Accounts tab. You can chat with them if you are having problems. Their customer service is top notch.

I have an external account linked for transfers. It has been a long time since I set that up. I think I had to send in a form and include a maximum allowable amount to transfer.
